The Casting Website helped Frances land her dream role.

As we often get thank you emails from happy members who have landed their dream roles. This week we thought we would share one of our favourites...

The Casting Process for the part of Flora in The Turn of the Screw was a whirl wind one. Barrie (Production’s Director) rang us directly looking for a young actor to play the part of a young Flora. Instantly we got the breakdown on the site to give all the relevant full members a chance to apply. As Barrie’s brief was very specific and to a strict deadline we also shortlisted members that fit the bill and sent them across to him the very same day!

Barrie was keen to get the role filled straight away, so after viewing the shortlists we put together along with all the members that had applied, he let us know who he wanted to see for a casting that evening.

An excited Frances accepted the offer straight away and headed over to the casting, and the rest is history! Frances was kind enough to share the story in her own words…

Role - Flora in The Turn of the Screw

C.P Theatre Productions 

"Whilst busily starting my gap year I was desperate to quickly get as much extra experience as I could, and start doing what I loved in between working for a nursery and getting my drama school applications ready. Suddenly I got an email saying I had an audition for Turn of the Screw with C.P Theatre Productions, I quickly called to confirm and made my way to the audition dressed up as a little girl as I knew the part was for the young girl flora. Instantly Barrie (The production’s Director) made me feel welcome and excited about the prospect of maybe working with him! I read through the part, and once I finished we spoke and he confirmed I had the part.

I was so excited to start rehearsing the next day! Especially as I loved the part of Flora, a young orphaned girl living with her uncle. She is haunted by the ghosts in the house along with her brother Miles; she has a dark humour embedded underneath her sweetness. I love playing such dynamic characters and I couldn't wait to start building the layers within her personality.

The cast have welcomed me and I feel like I am constantly being stretched and learning so much as the members are all such talented professionals. It is an amazing experience and I am taking in every part of it!

Theatre feels like my home and I am so happy to be back, thriving in such a wonderful environment! Thank you The Casting Website and Barrie for choosing me! I hope this may only be the beginning of the many challenges and adventures that lie ahead of me in my career!"
