FAQ’s for Actors

“What is The Casting Website?”

The Casting Website is the largest most comprehensive Casting Breakdown service for young Actors in the UK.

Since 2005, The Casting Website has worked with leading Casting Directors and Production Companies posting their Casting and job requirements for many leading TV, Film and Theatre productions.

“How do I submit myself for Castings?”

Firstly you must Register with The Casting Website.

Once you have registered and your Profile is complete, you will be able to apply for Castings by submitting your online CV to Casting Directors.

Only submit your CV if you are 100% suitable for the role being cast and you are available for the Audition, Shoot and Rehearsal dates.

If you do submit your CV when not suitable, the Casting Director may not consider you for future productions!

“Do I need to have professional experience to be a part of the Directory?”

No, The Casting Website is committed to offering opportunity to all young performers regardless of location, previous experience or social background.

Actors who wish to enhance their chances of being recognised by Casting Directors as having achieved a particularly high standard of Acting ability may apply to attend one of our Approved Actors Workshops.

“Are you an Agency?”

No, neither do we take any agency fees.

However, if you do not have an Agent we are more than willing to help and advise you when negotiating contracts.

“I currently have an Agent, can I still be a part of this Directory?”

Yes! If you are a young Actor and are currently represented by an Agent this Directory is perfect for you.

Your Agent’s contact details can be published alongside your headshot for Casting Directors to get in touch if you so wish.

“Why do I have to Input my Local Education Authority Details?”

If you are under 16 you have to obtain a licence to work from your Local Education Authority. To ensure success of landing a role we want the Casting Directors to know which LEA you are with so it is easier for them to apply for a licence and get you working.

“Will being a part of this Directory guarantee me work?”

No, we cannot guarantee that employers who view your profile will call you in for an Audition or that you will be offered the position following Audition. Those decisions rest with the Casting Director.

However, we can guarantee that your headshot will be published in one of the largest Directories of its kind in the UK and will be viewed by top industry professionals locating Actors for major TV, Film and Theatre productions.

“Will my contact details be published?”

No, we do not publish ANY contact details of individuals in the Directory, the only contact details published will be those of the Actor’s Agent if they have one.

If a Casting Professional wishes to contact an Actor all communication will be through the Website..

The Casting Website takes Child Protection very seriously, please take a look at  our Child Protection Policy.
