About CHILDREN with LEUKAEMIA
CHILDREN with LEUKAEMIA is the leading national charity dedicated to fighting Britain’s biggest childhood cancer.
For more than 20 years, they have been helping children affected by leukaemia, by funding essential research into causes and finding new and improved treatments. In addition they support families by providing funding for welfare programmes and by campaigning on their behalf.
Although leukaemia can now be successfully treated in the majority of children, it still has devastating effects, treatments are lengthy (two to three years or longer) and painful, with many survivors left with serious side-effects from the powerful drugs used and the future very uncertain for those it strikes.
